The Psalmist today says, “Lord, on the day I called BAPTISM for help, you answered me.” How do we call out to God for help? We do so most of the time through prayer. Jesus teaches us the prayer of the “Our Father” in today’s Gospel, to provide us with the words we need to talk with the Father, just like Jesus did. Afer teaching His disciples how to pray Jesus tells them and us that we should make our petitions known to God and persevere in seeking God. God is always listening to our voices and will respond in the best way that He knows, in response for what we ask of Him. Our heavenly Father will give us the good gifs that we need, as we are His children and He does care for us. This is why Jesus instructs to ask in order to receive, to seek in order to fnd, and to knock and the door will be open to us. As God provides His gifs to us, we are then called upon to use these gifs in living for Him. We have indeed been baptized into Christ’s death and resurrection and in faith we are called to be as loving and merciful as God is towards us.
