The celebration of Pentecost is all about the beginning of the true Church, her birthday of sorts, as the Holy Spirit pours out upon her. The Holy Spirit infames the Apostles with everything they will need to go out into the world, to every nation, and proclaim the resurrection of Jesus Christ to all. The Apostles were gathered together awaiting the coming of the Spirit, as Jesus had instructed them to do. Upon receiving the Holy Spirit, they come out of the room they were in and begin to speak of Jesus to the people, who hear the message in their native languages. As Jesus had promised, the Holy Spirit will teach us everything and will remind us of all Jesus had told us from the beginning. The Church has grown and continues to grow, all the while she continues to proclaim the truths of Jesus Christ, baptizing all believers, so that the Holy Spirit will fll the hearts and minds of the believers. Today, we live in the presence of God because of the coming of the Holy Spirit, may our hearts and minds receive with joy this great gif from God and may the Spirit assist us in being true disciples and followers of Jesus Christ. As the Sequence for this celebration proclaims: “Come, Holy Spirit, come!”
On a side note, most of the priests of the Diocese will be on retreat in Richardton this week being refreshed by the Holy Spirit. Know of our prayers and please pray for us.
