Today the Church celebrates the fullness of how God has revealed Himself to His people; as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, three persons in One God. This is a great mystery for our minds to understand fully, but we accept this revelation of God by faith. The Sacred Scriptures, especially from Jesus, the Son of God, teach His apostles in the gospels about the Father and the Holy Spirit. If we pay attention to these teachings, then we too have some grasp of the greatness of God. St. Paul ends his letter to the Corinthians in words very familiar to us, “The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God the Father and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.” These words are the initial greeting we receive very ofen at the beginning of Mass. They invite us into the relationship of love with the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, that the Trinity of unity share. The Communion antiphon sums it all up for us: “Since you are children of God, God has sent into your hearts the Spirit of His Son, the Spirit who cries out: Abba, Father.”
