Jesus, while dining with the Pharisees, gives a BAPTISM teaching about being a humble person, not thinking of oneself as more important than another. For the humble will be exalted and brought to a place of honor. When we conduct ourselves in ways of humility others will notice. It is not a means of trying to show of, but to have a greater desire to set another person apart as being more important than one’s self. This is why Jesus tells them not to invite just their important friends or family to come and eat with them, but to invite those that cannot repay the kind gesture, the poor, the crippled, the lame, and the blind. When we are humble and show great kindness to others, then we have approached the living God and His holy mountain. Having a meek and humble heart like Jesus, allows us a better opportunity to share God’s blessings with our neighbor and those who are in most need.
