As the liturgical year is winding to a close, the fnal Sundays focus our attention on the resurrection of Jesus and His coming again in glory, which is the Solemnity of Christ the King next weekend. The readings direct our focus to take time to think about where we are on our journey to heaven and if we need to work more at allowing Jesus our King to be our guide and leader. In other words, are there changes one should make in our life to be a better and more faithful disciple, follower of Christ? We will all stand before the judgement seat of Christ; we are told this ofen in the Scriptures. We know not the day or the hour but are told of signs that may point to the coming again of Christ. How prepared are we to meet our Creator? If we have kept the faith and have strived to follow the commandments of God in our daily lives and loving our neighbor as ourselves; then we can say we have done our very best. If we have defended our faith in our words and actions, then we have done our best. Jesus will be our judge; may He be ever merciful to each of us!
