In these final days of preparing to welcome our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with a newness into our heart, as we commemorate His birth, we sing of the goodness of the Lord for such a gift of love. It is with deep faith and trust that Mary responds with a firm “YES” to the angel Gabriel’s question of her to become the mother of the Son of God. Mary, though uncertain of what this all may mean for her, allows herself to be the instrument that God chose for this great task. The Holy Spirit will come upon her and the power of the Most High will overshadow her, as she conceives Jesus in her womb and provides her the strength necessary to fulfill God’s plan. Through our baptism, we are each called to say ‘yes’ to God and to fulfill His plan in our own lives, Mary gives us the courage to do God’s Will. As the Church celebrates the Nativity, the birth of our Lord, may we receive God’s great gift with humble and thankful hearts. And may it help us to spread the peace, the joy, and the blessings of God to all around us. My prayer is that you all will have a very Blessed Christmas season!!
