The Lord our God continues to reveal to us His saving powers. From the man of God, Elisha, to the works of healing provided by Jesus Himself, God still seeks to draw close to us and unburden us from our slavery to sin and the worldly ways. When we do as Naaman did and follow the instruction of God, then God can carry out His loving plan for us. When we know that it is through Jesus Christ that we have to die to sin and attachments so that we can truly live. It is in persevering in doing our best and asking God to guide us, that we can follow Him more faithfully. Even though Jesus healed all ten of the lepers, it was only the one foreigner that returned to Him and gave Him thanks for the gif of new life free from leprosy. Many more people are discovering or re-discovering the healing power that can be received through the Sacraments of the Church, particularly through the confession of our sins. This gif of forgiveness is truly healing and efective and so many people have expressed their gratitude and thankfulness of God’s mighty power that is bestowed upon them. May we always be thankful for God’s wonderous workings in our lives!
