The Church this Sunday continues with the Gospel of John’s “Bread of Life” discourse, a gentle reminder of really who and what Jesus is for each of us. Today we hear how some of the disciples who were following Jesus have decided that His teaching of that we need to eat His Flesh and drink His Blood in order to have eternal life is just too hard for them to believe. So many of them walked away and returned to their old ways of life, leaving behind the One that could give them all they would need in this life and for eternal life. It is unfortunate that even today, many have turned away from this teaching of Jesus and have chosen to live away from Him who is life itself. Jesus gives us all that we need and sends the Holy Spirit to us to help us on the pilgrimage called life. Jesus feeds us physically and spiritually taking care of our every need; if we would just believe and follow with an open heart. May we taste and see that the Lord is indeed good! Pray for our school, the students, families, teachers and staff as we begin another school year. Blessings, Fr. Fred
