As you are reading this, I will be in fight to Prague, our frst destination of our Eastern Europe pilgrimage. As I and the others go from one religious site to another, know that I will be carrying you with in my prayers.
As we hear Jesus sending out the seventy-two in pairs to prepare the people for the arrival of Jesus into their towns and villages, so too, are we sent out into the world every day to share the Gospel, in our words and our actions. By living faith-flled lives others may come to recognize the joy we have, which comes to us through Jesus’ sufering, death and resurrection. We are able to carry our crosses because Jesus has already done this for us. The seventy-two return to Jesus rejoicing in all that they witnessed and the power of the Holy Spirit that worked through them. The Holy Spirit works also through each of us and provides us the ability to do the work of Jesus within our daily lives. Jesus continues to call His laborers forth from the midst of His people. The prayers of the people for more vocations to serve God’s Church are being heard by God. The harvest is indeed abundant, and more laborers are needed, so pray always for more vocations, especially from within our parish. May the works we do help us get our names written in heaven.
