Our final days of preparing ourselves for the celebration of Christmas are here. The Letter to the Hebrews tells of how Jesus Christ will come into the world to do the will of the Father. This is the basic or central reason that God sent His Son to us, so that we too could learn to do the “will” of God in our own lives. We clearly are shown this in the example of the Blessed Virgin Mary’s life. Mary saying ‘yes’ to God to become the mother of His Son. How Mary proclaims the greatness of the Lord and in her visitation of Elizabeth where Elizabeth calls Mary blessed for believing that what was spoken to her by the Lord would be fulfilled by her life. Mary knows not what will happen to her, but she trusts fully in what the Lord is doing with her. Mary thus shows us how to live our lives in such a way as to do the ‘will of God.’ The great love of God for His people clearly assists us in giving ourselves over to God and doing His will. This is the pathway to holiness, may we pray that God gives us the graces we need each day, through the gift of His Son, Jesus Christ.
Blessings of a Joy-filled Christmas to you all,
