The Kingdom of Heaven is often referred to as the great banquet or wedding feast that God has prepared for all of us. From the gift of faith received at our Baptism, we are created to look to the Lord and strive to get to heaven and share in the abundance of God’s goodness. Unfortunately, not everyone will have the desire to get to heaven or even believe in the place God has prepared for eternal life with Him. Though some may stray from God, He will continue to call us to Himself, for He is the shepherd of our souls and desires only all the good things for each of us. There may be struggles and challenges along the way, but by returning to the Lord, and trusting He knows what is best, He will be welcoming each of us into the eternal “wedding feast” of heaven. In our world there is abundance and humble circumstances, but in God’s providence, He will provide the means each of us will need, as supplied through His Church.
