The Prophet Jeremiah tells us that the Lord will make a new covenant with His people, one that He will place His law within them and write it upon their hearts, so always to know His commandments and live by them. That new covenant comes to us today in the person of Jesus Christ, who came to forgive us of our sins and re-establish the true relationship God desires to have with us. Thus having a clean heart is what it takes, so we ask God to create a clean heart in each of us, as we confess our sins humbly before God and receive His forgiveness. We are nearing the celebration of the Passover feast, when Jesus will hand himself over for His death, all to give glory to God the Father in following the Father’s Will. The voice, the people around Jesus hear, is that of the Father, making them ready to better understand what His Son’s death is really all about. Jesus then tells them that when He is lifted up from the earth, He will draw everyone to Himself. Next week is the celebration of Jesus’ Passion, may we stay steadfast in being followers of Christ.
