The verse for the Gospel Alleluia this Sunday, I believe should be a prayer we each repeat over and over again: “May the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ enlighten the eyes of our hearts, that we may know what is the hope that belongs to our call.” We each have received a call from God on the day of our baptism, a calling that is to be fulfilled during our life as designed by God. We can find peace and hope in this call, when we allow God through His Son, Jesus to lead us and guide us. He may be sending us out to be the proclaimer of His Good News, though some will reject the message we bring. God may be sending you to drive out demons and anoint the sick and cure them, in a special ministry of faith. Whatever it is that God has planned for you, He hopes you will be willing to do. Sometimes we will feel totally inadequate or not able to do the task asked of us, but here once again the message given to St. Paul in last week’s reading will stand true: God’s grace will be sufficient and will help us to fulfill what is asked of us. It is up to us, through the grace of our baptism, to have a strong faith in God and to trust Him in all ways and to be unafraid to live out our calling from God. Blessings, Fr. Fred
