We will not have Family Faith Formation or Confirmation classes on February 1 so that all families have an opportunity to attend the "You're Amazing" event by Hard as Nails Ministries with Justin Fatica. See the poster below under "forms/handouts" for details and to find out how to get tickets! All the handouts and information that would be provided at the Feb. 1 meeting are posted below for your use at home.
Faith Formation is open to students age 3 through Confirmation (grades 5-6) at Christ the King Parish.
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is offered for children age 3, 4, and 5. See the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd tab for details and forms.
Family Faith Formation is for families with children Kindergarten - grade 4. Families meet one Wednesday of the month, gathering as a Parish community (see schedule below). The parents meet with Father Schneider, while the children meet with a catechist according to age group. Evenings begin with a light social at 5:30pm, followed by opening prayer at 5:45pm. The evening concludes at 6:45pm. Families are then asked to pray and reflect on the month's teaching at home. It is an unique opportunity to create a domestic church, where the family becomes the primary formator of their children in the faith.
First Communion (1st and 2nd graders)
First communion consists of a two-year preparation program. Both 1st and 2nd grade families must sign up for Family Faith Formation. First and second graders and their families participate in Family Faith Formation once a month. Second grade students have additional weekly meetings with a catechist every Wednesday from 5:30-6:30pm. A detailed schedule for the 2nd graders is provided below.
Confirmation (5th and 6th graders)
Confirmation consists of a two-year preparation program for 5th and 6th grade. Confirmation classes meet weekly with catechists on Wednesdays from 6:45pm-8:00pm in the Parish Life Center. Detailed schedules for 5th and 6th grade are provided below.
