Allow God to build us up through the gift of His Son.

As the season of Advent begins, the readings point us in the direction of preparing our hearts and minds to receive Jesus with a newness. This can only happen when we begin to detach ourselves more and more from the things of this world and allow God to build us up, through the gift of His Son. Becoming more aware of God’s presence in our lives and recognizing the real gifts and blessings that God pours out upon us, help us then to turn more to God and following His ways and not the ways of the world. A desire to grow in holiness and living a virtuous life can only happen when we let God into our hearts. We become better instruments for doing God’s work and sharing the love of God with all people we encounter daily. Let us all make this Advent season an opportunity to grow in our faith by finding the time to be with God in prayer and become more prepared for a real experience of the presence of Jesus and the personal relationship He wants to have with you.
