Today the Church celebrates its birthday, so to speak. The celebration of Pentecost is the celebration of the Holy Spirit being sent from Heaven by the Father and the Son upon the Apostles gathered together following Jesus ascending back to the Father. The Holy Spirit filled the Apostles with all that they would need to go out to all peoples and nations and proclaim the truths of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our prayer this day is: “Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love.” With the fire of the Holy Spirit in our lives, through Baptism and Confirmation, we are able to continue to bring others
to Jesus Christ and His Church, through our faithfully living the Gospel. The Holy Spirit will assist us in turning away from Satan, the evil one, who tries to separate us from the relationship we have with God. Let the Holy Spirit truly guide your life each day!!
With great joy for the Diocese of Bismarck, three men will be ordained on Monday, May 24, to the Transitional Diaconate, the final step before their ordination to the priesthood. Please pray for these men: Paul Gardner, Logan Obrigewitch and Benjamin Wanner. There are two other men preparing for their Transitional Diaconate ordination set for September 30 in Rome, so pleasealso pray for Grant Dvorak and Jacob Magnuson.
Peace,
Fr. Fred
