What Solomon requests of God is what each of us need to be asking God to give to us: an understanding heart to judge your people and to distinguish right from wrong. If we allow God to provide us these things, then it will be easy for us to do the good that God so desires us to do each day. It will help us to not be judgmental of others because of how they look or appear or the color of their skin. Recognizing these gifts, these treasures that God places before us and then using them is like finding that “hidden” treasure or pearl and doing all we can to preserve these good things in the way that we live each and every day. With the proper understanding of the teaching of Jesus, then we can make good decisions in our lives and treat others with the respect and dignity that they desire as children of God. Prayers for God’s graces and blessings to be poured upon your heart and then let them lead you to doing good in the eyes of God and your neighbor!
