In these challenging and unpredictable times, we are very much like the disciples on the road, walking to Emmaus. We have the flicker of light within us from our baptism, so we know Jesus Christ is always with us. But we can be somewhat disheartened because of the situations and circumstances we may be facing or going through and not recognize Jesus’ presence. We can watch the celebration of Mass but not receive our Lord in the Eucharist, which leaves us hopefully hungry and longing for Him. Yet, spiritually we are still one and together with all our brothers and sisters, as we pray together and for each other.
It is in this way that the Lord Jesus is still and always will be with us. May our hearts and minds continue to find our Lord present to us and walking with us, instructing us, and assisting us on our faith journey. The Lord Jesus is alive and, in our midst, so let us rejoice and be glad, now, and always. When we are once again able to come together and worship and pray as a faith community in our parish church, may our celebration be filled with the greatest of joys and blessings.
My continued prayers for each and every one of you, that you remain safe, healthy, and faithful to our Lord.
