In this time of so much uncertainty, I wish to encourage you to stay strong in your faith and trust that God will take care of us. The Lenten journey is all about growing a deeper relationship with Jesus, who in today’s Gospel demonstrated the power that God has by raising Lazarus from the dead. When we draw near to the source of such power, God then touches each of us with that power, helping us to endure through difficult times. I know that home life for many has changed, with schools closed, jobs being lost, and all the rest, but now is the very time to trust and have confidence in the power of God. Don’t let yourself fall into the trap of hopelessness, that is not of God.
Remember God’s plan always brings good out of darkness. Be creative on how to have ways of family activities in your home doing things you may never thought you would have time to share with your children. Find time to pray together, it is hard that as Catholics we cannot go to Mass and receive Jesus in the Eucharist, but we can be with each other and Jesus in a spiritual communion and He will give you all that you need.
Final thoughts, if possible please stay connected to your parish, we will be posting new things on the website regularly. Also if possible please financially support your parish so we can stay current with our regular expenses. The church building and chapel are open for you to come and visit and pray and the Sacrament of Reconciliation is available, at least at this time, this too may change. The school staff have been working hard to respond to the educational needs of our students, what a great job they have been doing!!
Praying for all of you daily and keep me in your prayers.
