“Cry out with joy to God, all the earth, alleluia; O sing to the glory of His name, alleluia; O render Him glorious praise, alleluia, alleluia!” These are the words of the opening Antiphon for today’s Mass on this Third Sunday of Easter. The words echo hopefully what we feel deep inside as we celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus in this Easter season. St. Peter boldly proclaims that God has raised Jesus up, releasing Him from the throes of death; as death could not hold Him. This is the Easter proclamation and the faith that we all proclaim together, as our Lord will show us the path of life. The Gospel today gives us the encounter that two of the disciples have with Jesus on the road to Emmaus, though unknown to them, Jesus reminds them of all that had been written about Him in the scriptures and then fnally reveals Himself to their eyes in the breaking of the bread. Jesus appeared to His disciples numerous times afer His resurrection, so that they would be reassured of all that He had taught them and prepared them for going forward. May we too, allow Jesus to walk with us on our faith journey and allow Him to reveal Himself more and more to us and then let our hearts be set on fre with the words Jesus speaks to us. Know of my prayers while I am away on pilgrimage and please pray for our safe travel, as we leave Monday morning.
