There has been some confusion because recently you received two mailings from Christ the King – one announcing that our Capital Campaign will be resuming, and one mailing about donations towards our Endowments. These are two DIFFERENT things.
Christ the King has several Endowment accounts that are earmarked towards different things such as Catholic Education, Parish Religious Education, Student Scholarships, and general operating expenses, etc. The principal balances on these accounts are held at the Diocese and Christ the King directly benefits from the interest on those balances. Donations to our Endowments are greatly appreciated because it raises the principal balance which raises the interest we gain each year.
This is different from our Capital Campaign which we are also beginning now for building repairs of the church and school. You will be receiving a special pledge card to use for Capital Campaign donations. Please be sure that you know which item you are giving to when you send a check to Christ the King – our parish endowments and/or the Capital Campaign.
Please call the parish office with any questions and we will be happy to clarify things for you!
