Once again, the scribes and the Pharisees are trying to test Jesus, so that they could bring some type of charge against Him and get rid of Him. This time they bring a woman caught in adultery and say that in their law she is to be stoned and they ask Jesus what He says. Jesus turns the table on them and tells them that any of them that is without sin should throw the frst stone. One by one they all walk away, realizing that none of them were without sin. The same is true for each of us, none of us is without sin. Jesus then tells the woman that He does not condemn her and that she should go and sin no more. When we go to Jesus and confess our sins Jesus doesn’t condemn us but rejoices that we seek His mercy. Jesus forgives our sins and then tells us to go and sin no more. The people of the Old Testament were constantly turning away from God and yet God sent His prophets to try and lead them back to the right path. The right path for us is to stay close to Jesus and cling to Him, allowing Him to lead us to our goal: Eternal glory with Him.
