O God, let all the nations praise you, the Psalmist tells us this day. For as the Church was growing afer Jesus rose from the dead and the apostles were sharing this Good News, many people from many places came to believe. But with growth also comes some dificulties, as the people in each place had come to diferent understandings, and the Apostles gathered the elders and listened to the needs or concerns and then discerned the correct direction. The Church today still does the very same things, never taking anything away from what Jesus has taught us to do. The Lamb of the temple, Jesus Christ, is also the light that will never dim or go out, for the Lamb shows forth the glory of God to all people. Jesus’ days are numbered as He will soon ascend back to the Father and so He tells them that the Father will be sending them in His name an Advocate, the Holy Spirit. This gif of the Holy Spirit will teach the Apostles everything and remind them of all that Jesus has taught them. This Holy Spirit still works amongst us in the Church today, teaching us and leading us to follow Christ. Jesus wishes them His peace and that they are not to be afraid, as He will be with them always. It is the love of Jesus that remains and it will help the Apostles and us to always believe.
Please pray for the two men to be ordained transitional Deacons for our diocese on Tuesday, in their fnal preparation for the priesthood.
Also, one last reminder to be a part of this year’s God’s Share Appeal by dropping of your envelope and gif.
