The promise of salvation for all peoples, which Jesus preached, is clearly found in all the readings this week. Even from the Old Testament the prophet Isaiah is proclaiming to the people that the Lord desires them to follow His ways more closely and be united to Him. St. Paul tells the Gentiles that the "Good News” of Jesus is for them as well as anyone else who is willing to hear it and follow the commands of God. Jesus demonstrated this by recognizing the faith of the woman and curing her daughter. She was not a follower of Jesus but understood the power that Jesus has and thus comes humbly before Him and asks that He cure her daughter. The scraps of Jesus’ goodness and love for all people falls from His table and is given even to the foreigner. The love of God is for every person and Jesus came into this world to show that love wherever He went to proclaim the Gospel of the kingdom and lead people to eternal salvation. The mercy of God is abundant, so be reconciled back to God and allow His love to penetrate your heart and to caring for our neighbors.
