The Church returns to the celebration of Ordinary Time, when we walk with Jesus as He goes about teaching and preaching from place to place. He teaches us not to deny God but to acknowledge His presence in our lives and recognize this as ‘gift.’ The Prophet Jeremiah is aware that some people were out to get him, even those he thought were his friends, but this did not worry him for he knew God was with him and would answer his prayers. Despite our unworthiness or our sinfulness, the grace of God still comes to us from Jesus and His mercy and forgiveness. We need to stay close to God and live in the gift of His grace and forgiveness. Our daily prayer should be what the Psalmist says this day: “Lord, in your great love, answer me.”
I wish all our fathers a Blessed and Happy Father’s Day, may St. Joseph give you strength to live your vocation as a good father!
A bit of an update from the parish: work will begin soon on getting our roofs fixed or replaced around the building complex, a very necessary project to protect our property. There has been some fund raising going on to off-set the amount of the loan from the Diocese to do this work. If any household would like to donate to this cause they may do so, and the amount will be counted toward a donation to the Capital Campaign that we hope to start in the Fall to get many other necessary things repaired or replaced. Thank you for your generosity.
