Mrs. Dorman was reared in Bismarck, ND and in Clonakilty, Ireland. She is mother to four children, three of whom attend Christ the King.
Brigid worked as a field archaeologist in Ireland and North America throughout her twenties, surveying and excavating dozens of sites that ranged from the Neolithic up to the Modern eras, in both academic and commercial settings.
In 2009, she attended graduate school, earning two postgraduate degrees in Psychology, with an emphasis in research. She went on to work in research, student advising and vocational rehabilitation, before dedicating herself to the full time care and then homeschooling of her four children.
She is a lifelong lover of music, especially traditional forms, and is an occasional player in the Bismarck Symphony and Missouri Valley Chamber Orchestras.
Brigid and her family love spending time outdoors walking, gardening, and tent camping. Before marriage and children, Brigid was an avid rambler, being an active member of her local mountaineering clubs in Cork and in Galway. She walked the Camino de Santiago twice, and almost completed a solo NOBO of the Appalachian Trail. She hopes to pass on that love of the trail to her children and plans to tackle a few sections of long trails with her family in the next few years.
