I was born in a small town in Colorado, but lived most of my life in Texas before moving to Bismarck to pursue a degree in Social Work and Catholic Studies at the University of Mary. After obtaining my degree in 2020, I worked in human services as a licensed clinic social worker for Sanford Health and then as a case manager for adults with mental health challenges for a private organization. My part-time work as a respite care provider working with children with disabilities, combined with my social work experiences, led me to the decision to work toward a Master's degree in Special Education through UMary. I worked for a short time in a local public elementary school as an instructional aide before beginning my graduate studies and deciding to accept the Lower Elementary Montessori Assistant position at Christ the King in the fall of 2022. I found Maria Montessori's initial work with children with mental disabilities intriguing as it related to my goal to become a special educator, so I believe I have found a wonderful fit for my current and future endeavors in the field of education.
I live in Mandan and volunteer as a co-catechist for fifth graders at a local Catholic parish. Outside of school, I also enjoy hiking, cooking, baking, crocheting and visiting my family who live in Wyoming and California.
