Mr. Nagel was born and raised in Bismarck, ND, where he attended St. Mary’s Grade School and St. Mary’s Central High School. After a year at NDSU, Mr. Nagel was fortunate to attend St. John Vianney Seminary at the University of St. Thomas, where he received two years of valuable formation and education. After learning more of God’s plan for his vocation, Mr. Nagel began to pursue a career in education. He received his undergraduate degree in elementary education from Dickinson State University and then received his graduate degree in elementary education from the University of Mary.
Mr. Nagel married his wife, Abbey, in 2013. They live in Bismarck with four active boys and a spoiled little girl! Along with family walks and visits to the park, he enjoys landscaping and gardening. He especially enjoys building forts and wrestling with the boys, snuggling with his daughter, and spending time with family at his parents’ hobby farm.
Mr. Nagel has always had a love for Catholic Education. During his early career in education, he spent time at all three Catholic elementary school's in Bismarck, working as an aide, student teacher, and classroom teacher. He learned about Christ the King Catholic Montessori School and decided to visit. His passion for Montessori education began during that first observation in the Children’s House and he has loved the method ever since. He became principal of CTK shortly after in 2017. He loves working with the wonderful, hard-working, faith-filled staff at CTK but Mr. Nagel’s favorite part of his vocation in education is experiencing the growth and joy of the students of Christ the King School every single day.
