Sr. Chiara Thérèse Jacobson, originally from North Dakota, has been at Christ the King Catholic Montessori School since 2015. As the atrium catechist, she begins working with the children when they arrive at 3 years of age and accompanies them in their path with God until they leave Christ the King at age 12. The beauty of showing the Kingdom of God to the little ones is her great joy, along with preparing the children to receive Jesus for the first time, and continuing their religious formation as they move into Upper Elementary, culminating with the reception of the great sacrament of confirmation.
She received her training in Catechesis of the Good Shepherd in Levels I, II, and III both nationally and internationally. Sister also received her formation in Infant/Toddler Catechesis of the Good Shepherd and is currently in the discernment process for becoming a Level I formation leader. After completing her observation hours, Sister will hold an AMI Assistants to Infancy Montessori diploma (0-3 years of age).
Sister Chiara Thérèse spent numerous years abroad, mostly in Italy. There, she received a diploma in Spiritual Theology from the Pontifical Theological Faculty Teresianum in Rome. She fell in love with the two “lungs” of the Church while in Rome – the East and West – and desires to give to the children this deep love and appreciation for the mysteries the Lord has wrought throughout the history of Christianity.
She holds a bachelor’s degree from North Dakota State University, and a Master’s in Theology and Christian Ministry from Franciscan University of Steubenville, OH.
Sister Chiara Thérèse is the first member of the Public Association the Servants of the Children of Light. This Association, with the intent on becoming a religious institute in God’s time, was established by Bishop David Kagan in the Diocese of Bismarck, ND on October 1, 2020, with the apostolate of Montessori education rooted in a life of contemplative prayer.
