Reconciliation

In this Sacrament, the faithful confess their sins to a legitimate confessor, express sorrow for those sins, and an intention to reform their lives.  In return, God absolves them from their sins through the ministry of the priest.  At the same time, the individuals are also reconciled to the Church community which has been wounded through sin (c. 959).
