Christ the King Catholic Montessori School of Mandan, ND was originally founded in 1958. Our Mission is to enrich the minds and hearts of all students through the teachings of Christ in the Catholic tradition with the help of the Montessori Method of education. All teachers are facilitators of faith which allows participation in programs of spiritual growth and formation.
Christ the King (CTK) School is dedicated to providing a setting that prepares children to lead a faith-filled Christian life. Our goal is to educate the whole person and to assist parents in fulfilling their responsibility to educate their children. We create a warm and welcoming environment where families may come together to learn in faith and grow in prayer. We provide a quality academic education, teach moral values and instill in children an attitude of love and reverence for life, one’s own life, and the lives of others. We strive to keep the faith alive, not only for present but also for future generations, and help children see themselves as members of the universal church throughout the world.
In 2016, Christ the King School began a significant transition into Montessori based education. CTK currently has a full Nido and Infant Community (infant and toddlers, ages 0-3), three Montessori Children’s Houses (ages 3-6), three lower elementary environments (ages 6-9), and two upper elementary environments (ages 9-12).
The most essential element CTK School offers to students is religious formation. In addition to weekly all-school Mass and daily prayer in the classrooms, CTK offers religious formation to students through Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS). CGS is a Montessori-based catechesis, and has proven to not only be effective religious education, but also a favorite part of our students’ day. All students at CTK have the privilege of receiving Catechesis of the Good Shepherd in our school atrium (Montessori religion room).
If you are interested in observing in either the classrooms or atrium, or are considering enrolling your child at Christ the King School, please call or stop by the school office for more information.
